Abstract

The curing of concrete is accelerated by subjection to electromagnetic radiation of such a frequency as will penetrate the concrete completely and raise its temperature uniformly over the entire depth of penetration. Loss of moisture from the concrete is reduced or prevented by either limiting concrete temperature prevented by either limiting concrete temperature to 80 DEG C., or by covering with a moisture-impervious but ray pervious material if higher temperatures are used; or treated in a pressure vessel with a window transparent to microwaves again if higher temperatures are used.
