Abstract

1,070,536. Bearings. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. Dec. 9, 1963 [Dec. 7; 1962], No. 48523/63. Heading F2A. In a method of making a self-lubricating bearing a mixture of a particulate polyolefine material, e.g. polypropylene or polyethylene, and a water soluble salt, e.g. sodium chloride or sodium sulphate, is heated under pressure to form the desired shape, the salt being subsequently removed by water and the pores produced thereby filled with a lubricant, e.g. oil. The polyolefine material may contain a filler, a dyestuff or a pigment.
