Abstract
106,858. Molassine Co., Whalley, J. J. A. de, and Whalley, H. C. S. de. June 5, 1916. Manures.-A fertilizer is prepared by inoculating molasses or materials containing molasses with azotobacter or fertile soil containing azotobacter, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, magnesium limestone, or like alkaline earth carbonate in a finely divided condition being added to neutralize the acids produced. The mixture is allowed to stand for a few days at a temperature of 24‹ C., and may be used to inoculate a further quantity of the mixture or may be mixed with dry soil, peat, &c. so as to enable it to be readily spread on the soil. The molasses may be mixed with water or may be used in a concentrated form.
