1,067,591. Fuel tank pressurization systems. INTERTECHNIQUE. Feb. 10, 1965, No. 5773/65. Heading B7W. [Also in Division G1] An aircraft fuel tank pressurization system has a pressure indicator, indicating the pressure in the pressurization pipe leading to the tank, and an indicator indicating the direction of flow in the pipe. The flow direction indicator may comprise a rotary screw, or as described in the Specification, consists of a flap in a Venturi pivotable by the flow to touch either of two electrical contacts and cause either of two lamps to be lit indicating the direction of flow. These lamps may be mounted on the dial of a pressure gauge forming the pressure indicator. The apparatus is located between the tank and a control system which connects the pipe selectively to a ram air inlet or to an air outlet to maintain a constant gauge pressure in the tank. Thus if the pressure is too high, the lamps should indicate that air is leaving the tank, and vice versa if the pressure is low. If the right combination of signals does not occur, the control system should be isolated from the tank, and the apparatus may be arranged to actuate a valve to effect this, and to operate an alarm.
