Abstract

1,067,221. Percussive drills. L. A. GRANT. March 23. 1964, No. 12105/64. Heading B4C. [Also in Division F4] A pneumatic drill 19 for use on a platform for removing furnace linings, is mounted on a carrier 17 tilted about a pivot on a bracket 20 by an hydraulic cylinder 18. The bracket 20 is attached to the movable part 15 of a telescopic boom 11, guide rollers 26 and an hydraulic cylinder 21 controlling the movement of the part 15. The whole boom is tilted by an hydraulic cylinder 21, and a platform supporting the hydraulic reservoir 8, and the pump and operating motor 6 is rotatable through 360 degrees by gearing 12, 13. The whole assembly is mounted on a tracked or wheeled vehicle. -The drill carrier may be reversed about its pivotal connection to the bracket 20 to increase its range of vertical movement (Figs. 7 and 8, not shown).
