Kinematograph apparatus.-A holder for a composite photograph and a line screen or the equivalent, the photograph and screen being relatively movable to produce animated effects, comprises a rigid base and front frame, either or both of which are provided with apertures, cuts, &c. so that pressure upon the photograph or screen behind or at the apertures &c. produces the relative movement. In the construction shown in Fig. 3, tho photograph a is pasted to the base c, and the screen b is secured to the frame e, which is connected by lugs e<1> bent to a V-shape to strips e<2>, the strips e<2> being pasted to the base c and the front frame d. The lugs e<1> project through slots in the base c when the holder &c. are assembled, and pressure upon them produces the relative movement. In the modification shown in Fig. 7, an extension b<1> of the screen b is secured to the base c and the frame d, and positioned between an aperture c' in the base and an arc-shaped cut d<2> in the frame. In a further modification, Fig. 10, an extension of the screen b passes round a piece of rubber tubing or like resilient material g<1> and protrudes through an opening c<5> in the base c.
