Abstract

1384421 Percussive tools; seaming non- metallic sheet material ULTRASONIC SYSTEMS Inc 19 Jan 1972 [26 Feb 1971 20 Dec 1971] 2669/72 Headings B4C and B5K [Also in Divisions A4 A5 B3 H2 H3 and H4] Ultrasonic apparatus driven by a tuned circuit has an adapter unit into which a plurality of accessories can be interchangeably connected, the adapter when assembled forming an instrument including a motor. The motor is piezoelectric. One such accessory (Fig. 22, not shown) may be used as a "pencil" for burning pictures into wooden sheet. Another accessory (Fig. 28) is for shearing off the heads of plastics rivets. In assembling a model aircraft (Fig. 20) from plastics parts an accessory 165d is interposed between two parts and a flow plastics occurs which is sufficient to cause fusion of the plastics parts.
