Abstract

A roller bearing comprises an outer race (1) having flanges (2), a synthetic plastic cage having bars (4) between which cylindrical rollers (3) are positioned, each bar having one end connected to the adjacent end of one adjacent bar, and its other end connected to the adjacent end of the other adjacent bar, by are-shaped portions (5). To assemble the bearing the cage is deformed by radial forces, the spaced ends of adjacent bars coming into contact and the cage retaining its cylindrical form, the cage is then inserted and allowed to return to its initial form. The rollers are then inserted and are retained radially by projections on the bars (4).
