In a wall, ceiling or like construction or a lining therefor (Fig. 1) comprising at least two stringers 1 to which lamellae or similar strip like elements 9 with turned-up longitudinal sides 6, 10 have been fastened by projecting tongues 3, 2, the lamellae or similar elements are arranged one against the other and one side 6 of one such element is of such profile as compared with the other side that each two adjacent elements overlap. In a modification (Fig. 2) one side has a portion 13 at a higher plane level than the central part a portion 18 of an adjacent side bent through 180‹ being below it. The free end of the side 6 (Fig. 1) and side 15 (Fig. 2) have been bent looplike and the free end of the side 10 (Fig. 1) and side 20 (Fig. 2) have been rolled up. In Figs. 1 and 2 the tongues 3 and 16 comprise hooklike ends bent in a sense opposite to that of the ends 6, 15 of the sides 8, 13 respectively. In a modification of Fig. 2 each tongue 16 has been formed rectangularly and each end 15 is rolled up to rest on a horizontal portion thereof with a clearance between it and the vertical portion.
