Abstract

1,065,199. Centrifugal distributers. ATKINSON'S OF CLITHEROE Ltd. March 22, 1966 [April 2, 1965; May 17, 1965], Nos. 14208/65 and 20837/65. Heading A1D. A centrifugal distributer comprises an endless belt conveyer driven through a reduction gear 15 from a hydraulic motor 14 and a metering valve constituting a torque generator which is driven by a flexible coupling 27 from a wheel 23 which engages the road wheel 26. The drive from the wheel 23 monitors the rate of flow of hydraulic fluid to the motor and ensures that the rate of travel of the belt is proportional to the speed of the vehicle wheels. The metering valve may be a separate unit from the motor. The flexible drive may be disconnected and the motor 14 may be operated by a manually oper able crank or an electric motor. The centrifugal discs 12 are driven by a hydraulic motor 13.
