Abstract

1,063,559. Photo-sensitive material. KALLE A.G. Dec.31, 1965 [Jan. 2, 1965] No.55430/63. Addition to 950, 761. Heading G2C. A photo-sensitive material comprises an aluminium support coated with a subbing layer of a phosphonic acid or a derivative or a substituted product thereof and then with a layer of containing a diphenylamine-4-diazonium salt formaldehyde condensation product free from metal salts and an epoxy resin. The epoxy resin may be replaced (up to 50%) by a phenol, urea-, or melamine-formaldehyde resin a polyisocyanate, a polyamide or an alkyd resin or an alkyl-modified resin (see Specification 1, 63, 558). The material is imagewise exposed and developed with a solution containing gum arabic, magnesium nitrate and phosphoric acid to produce a printing plate. The subbing layer may be polyvinyl phosphonic acid, vinyl phosphonic acid/acrylic acid copolymer or a mixture of monomeric and polymeric vinyl phosphonic acids and is applied to aluminium support having a b÷hmite coating.
