[Also in Division F1] Part-spherical surfaces 17 on the hub of a runner of an hydraulic pump turbine or turbine-pump (see Division F1), are machined by a grinding wheel or cutting tool 26 vertically traversing the hub in a curved path controlled by a former 28. Additionally, the hub is rotated about an axis 25 coincident with the centre point of the corresponding sphere, the hub being supported on a surface inclined at an angle, e.g. 30 degrees, to the horizontal.
