Abstract
1,063,279. Electron guns. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. Sept. 30, 1965 [Oct. 14, 1964], No. 41562/65. Heading H1D. An electron gun, e.g. for electron beam welding, comprises a device 1, e.g. an electromagnetic plasma accelerator, for generating a plasma jet 2 and two apertured electrodes 6, 7 energized as shown for repelling and capturing ions of the plasma and for extracting the electron beam. A magnetic focusing coil 3 is provided, the field of the coil gradually increasing in the direction of jet flow.
