Abstract

1,063,128. Spinning rings. EADIE BROS & CO. Ltd. Nov. 19, 1965 [Dec. 2, 1964], No. 48912/64. Heading DID. A groove or recess a<SP>1</SP> is provided in the upper surface of the circumferential flange a by which a spinning ring is held in the ring holder C to receive the upper nose portion b<SP>2</SP> of the traveller B to facilitate the lower nose portions b passing under the ring when the traveller is being placed on the ring. As shown the recess extends through the ring holder C and a slide D moves in the recess. When a traveller is being fitted slide D is, as shown, moved outwardly preferably against spring action but during normal operation it fills recess a<SP>1</SP> (Fig. 1c not shown). In Fig. 2b, not shown, the recess a<SP>2</SP> covers the full depth of the flange and is normally closed by a pivoted member D<SP>1</SP>. In Fig. 3b, not shown, the recess is covered by a strip of resilient material D<SP>2</SP> which can be depressed by the lower nose portion of the traveller.
