A flat wall comprises horizontal rails, Fig. 3, (not shown), supporting overlapping concrete or other panels having interfitting rebates 13, 14 at top and bottom enclosing a horizontal rail so that the outer panel faces lie in a common plane, the two edge faces of each panel having angled metal strips 18, 19 embedded along a line oblique to said plane to form projecting lips between panels which nest at horizontal joins, Fig. 4, (not shown). Vertical weld lines (21) unite the abutting lips to form a weatherproof joint, surplus metal being cut off. The vertical joints may be concealed by cover panels. In a modification the panels are arranged to provide horizontal welded joint lines.
