Abstract
1,060,765. Valves. TRANTER MANUFACTURING Inc. June 17, 1964 [Aug. 26, 1963], No. 25158/64. Heading F2V. A valve unit for connecting a transformer with its radiator comprises a tubular body 11 having a flange 23 providing a seat 30 which co-operates with a gasket 35 mounted on a flap 34 which in turn is loosely pivoted at 39 to an arm 40 pivotally mounted to an operating shaft 41 which is operable by means of an L-shaped lever (Fig. 1, not shown). Either of the arms of the latter lever can be fixed to a bracket mounted on the flange 23 to lock the valve in the open or closed position. A spring 52 is arranged between arm 40 and the flap to ensure that the gasket seats without rubbing. The body 11 may be welded to the transformer to prevent oil loss during transport and subsequently connected to the radiator by flange 23.
