Abstract
Petroleum wax blends comprise a paraffin-wax and 10 to 30 weight per cent of the blend of a polybutene-1 resin of molecular weight 100,000 to 200,000 and an isotactic content of 50 to 70 weight per cent. The blends may be used for melt coating paper and paperboard to form wrapping materials and containers.ALSO:Petroleum wax blends comprise a paraffin wax and 10 to 30 weight per cent of the blend of a polybutene-1 resin of molecular weight 100,000 to 200,000 and an isotactic (diethyl ether insoluble) content of 50 to 70 weight per cent. The blends may be used for melt coating paper and paperboard to form wrapping materials and containers.ALSO:Paper and paperboard may be melt coated with petroleum wax blends comprising a paraffin wax and 10 to 30 weight per cent of the blend of a polybutene-1 resin of molecular weight 100,000 to 200,000 and an isotactic content of 50 to 70 weight per cent. The products may be used as wrapping materials and for making cartons. Specified substrates are foil, parchment, kraft and glassine papers and chipboard.
