Abstract

An electrical insulation comprises a cured ethylene-propylene rubber containing hydrated alumina, the alumina constituting 50 to 90% of the entire insulation. In examples, the compounding ingredients used are dicumyl peroxide, zinc oxide, antimony oxide, sulphur, plasticizing resin and paraffin base oil. The effect of the insulation is described in connection with a transformer.
