1,059,374. Finishing fabrics. UNION-TEPPICH-FABRIK WALTER POSER & CO. KOMM KES. Oct. 25, 1963 [Aug. 1, 1963], No. 42155/63. Heading D1S. In removing floating pile threads from woven fabric, fabric 2 is stertched on the surface of a cylindrical roller 1 having a peripheral surface large enough to accommodate the width of the fabric and of a length at least equal to the length of the fabric, the fabric being held by its selvedges 22 engaging pin boards 12. Drive means are provided to rotate roller 1 in direction of arrow a. A cleaning spike 3 is secured in a holder 4 which can be traversed along the length of the roller, the spike 3 being adjustable to the surface of the foundation weave 23. A shearing cylinder 5 is provided to follow the spike 3 in direction of rotation so as to cut off the threads raised by the spike. Several spikes and co-operating shearing cylinders may be provided along the length of the cylinder to work on adjacent parts of the fabric.
