Abstract

1,059,322. Endless conveyers. MINING ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Sept. 6, 1963 [Sept. 7, 1962], No. 34288/62. Heading B8A. An endless belt conveyer in which the driving unit comprising a motor 13, fluid coupling 12 and gear-box 11 all mounted on a bed frame 16, are carried by a rigid, compression girder 14 forming the terminal unit of the conveyer, the the weight of the whole structure being supported on frameworks 15, 26 and the reaction of the belt tension being taken by the framework 26. The girder 14 carries a drum 10 at its discharge end and a drum 18 with an associated snub drum 19 at its other end. Driving units may be coupled to either one or both sides of the drum 10 and/or the drum 18 and are mounted on the drum axles with a torque reaction coupling between the frame 16 and the girder supporting framework. Automatic belt tensioning means 20 may also be incorporated in the girder 14.
