Means for removing a welding bead from a limb 20 of a chain link 11 comprises a forkshaped cutting-tool 24, 25 having at least three cutting edges 21, 22, 23, and means for turning the tool round the limb whilst the limb is held on both sides of the bead by clamps 12, 13 which may be actuated by pistons 15. The tool is moved into cutting position by a device 26 and is then rotated.
