Abstract

1,058,285. Air conditioning units; refrigerating. A. FRIGERIO. Feb. 4, 1964, No. 4595/64. Headings F4H and F4V. A refrigerant condenser in an air conditioning unit is cooled by external atmospheric air which is conveyed to and from the unit through ducts which are adjustable in length and which have at least one common wall. As illustrated, the ducts comprise sections 11, 12, 11a and 12a slidable with respect to each other, the sections 11a and 12a being joined by spacers 18 and fitted in an opening in a window 21. When the conditioner is moved to a different location the window opening is closed with a synthetic plastic plug. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the concentric ducts are each provided with elastic extensible portions to provide length adjustment. In a further embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), contiguous rectangular ducts having a common wall have an elastic extensible portion. The ducts may be formed of polyvinyl chloride or synthetic resin.
