Abstract
1,058,275. Valves. BRUCESTER (KING- HAM) Ltd. Feb. 13, 1964, No. 6182/64. Heading F2V. An animal operated valve comprises a body 11 for connection to or in a water feed pipe and a lift valve 23 co-operating with a valve seating 20 surrounding a water discharge orifice 15 in the body, wherein the lift valve comprises an operating stem 30 which projects through the discharge orifice, with clearance so as to define therewith an annular outlet when the valve is lifted, the stem having a portion 31 which is slidably received in a guide 25 to limit its sideways movement. The body 11, seat 20 and feed pipe 12, 13 are formed as a one-piece moulding from a transparent plastics material or neoprene. A removable body cap 18 includes the guide 25. The valve 23 embodies both an 0-ring 34 which seats upon the seat 20, and a weighted portion 36. A spring may surround the part 31. The valve is held on a supporting arm, the feed pipe 12, 13 fitting above a U-shaped end and lugs 50 fitting below the same to hold the body in position. Turning of the body through 90 degrees brings the lugs 50 in engagement with a gap on the supporting arm and permits upward removal of the body from the arm.
