Abstract
A chlorinated linear polyethylene, used together with 30 to 130 parts of liquid plasticizer per 100 parts of polyethylene as a binder for a flexible magnet (see Division Hl), has 33 to 55% by weight of chlorine. The crystallinity is less than 30% as determined by differential thermal analysis. The glass transition temperature ranges from -18 \sB 10 DEG C. for the 33% chlorine polymer to 63 \sB 15 DEG C. for the 55% chlorine polymer. The molecular weight corresponds to an intrinsic viscosity of from 3 to 6 in o-dichlorobenzene at 100 DEG C.
