Abstract

1,056,911. Endless conveyers. L. DEVYLERRE. Feb. 8, 1964, No. 5387/64. Heading B8A. An apparatus for the continuous conveying of compressible materials, such as textile fibres, along a rectilinear duct 1, 2, comprises a run of an endless link or roller chain 9 movable along the longitudinal axis of the duct, and being tensioned and driven between sprocket wheels in order to move the material along the duct on the level or up and down inclines. The material is fed from a hopper 10 into the duct 1, 2 between two pressure rollers 7, 8 grooved to form a passageway for the chain 9. Alternatively, the material is merely gravity fed from a hopper. The duct comprises two sections 1, 2, bolted together on flanges 4, 5, and may be air-tight or be perforated depending on whether the material being conveyed has to be treated from outside of the duct, e.g. a perforated duct passing through a steam chamber.
