Abstract

The sieve comprises a set (A) of wires, each forming a closed loop (2) and passing longitudinally over rollers (1); one being motorised. Below or inside this set is another (B), the wires (5) fixed perpendicular, or inclined, to the longitudinal wires and connected to belts (4) around rollers (3), one of which is driven. The adjacent surfaces of these two sets run closely parallel to each other. The unsorted rubbish on a conveyor belt is transported close to the sieve. Here, a vacuum head is positioned, drawing air through the mesh. The light waste clings to the sieve and is transported, dropping into a hopper further on; the heavy waste falls off the belt into another hopper.
