Actuating pumps by motion of vehicle; starting and stopping pumps automatically.-A pump carried by, and operated by the rotation of, a wheel is provided for charging an annular space 4 formed between disks 1, 2 and a sleeve 15 with compressed gas for tyre inflation through connexions 11 and cocks 13 and is automatically put out of action when the desired pressure is at. tained. The pump cylinder 17, having a non-return, valve 19 opening into the space 4, is fitted with a piston 20 which is operated from an eccentric 23 on the axle 16, the eccentric flanges 24 bearing on rollers 26 carried by the collar 25 in. tegral with the piston.20. A spring 27 normally holds the parts 24, 25 in working relation, but is overcome when the required pressure is set up in the space 4 owing to the movement of the piston 21 which is also carried by the collar 25.
