Abstract
1,056,401. Controlling lifts. TATEISI ELECTRONICS CO. Jan. 12, 1965 [Nov. 21. 1964], No. 1400/65. Heading B8L. In a lift control system employing logic circuits the position of the lift is signalled by a reversible counter comprising a plurality of binary counters actuated by pulses, one as the car reaches each floor, which are added or subtracted for upward and downward movement respectively. There is an output terminal for each floor, connected to respective INHIBIT elements, the arrangement being that these elements block except when the car is at the corresponding floor. The pulses are produced by a proximity switch on the car which detects conductive material at the floors. The logic circuit is fully described and provides for calls made from the floors or the car, and for door opening. Also, downward calls made during the lift's upward journey are stored until the lift descends, and vice versa.
