[Also in Division H5] Water-cooled rails 3 (Figures not shown), extending through two induction heating coils 1, 2, Fig. 1, are surrounded by spaced steel sleeves 4, Fig. 2, filled with powdered clay, diatomaceous earth or MgO or fibrous silicoaluminous material. The sleeves are spaced apart to allow for expansion and their ends closed with either discs 7, Fig. 2, or half cylinders of refractory brick 8, Fig. 3, which also serve to centre the sleeves on the rail. Each rail comprises a tube or tubes of circular, elliptical, rectangular or square cross-section.
