Abstract
The cleaning solution of the parent Specification is modified by the addition of a compound forming complexes with ferric but not ferrous ions, e.g. hydrofluoric or phosphoric acids, or their salts such as NH4 bifluoride. The quantity of the stannous ions and of the complexing agent may be maintained constant by measuring the redox potential and adding Sn Cl2 or the agent as required.
