Abstract

1,055,458. Washing bottles. BRITISH MILLER HYDRO CO. Ltd. Aug. 27, 1965 [Sept. 3, 1964], No. 36140/64. Heading B8T. A machine in which inverted bottles are carried by an endless conveyer and their interior and exterior surfaces are cleaned by jets of pressure fluid, comprises rows of moulded bottle holders 1, each row being carried by a pair of rods 2, Fig. 2, not shown, extending through openings 5 of the holders and attached at their ends to spaced chains 3 of the conveyer. Each holder is of generally frusto-conical form with circumferentially spaced openings 14 for the downward and outward flow of cleaning fluid; its lower end has inwardly sloping surfaces 18, 19 and supports the bottle mouth. Diametrically opposed projections 6 on their rims 11 provide abutments for adjacent holders.
