Abstract

1,103,151. Crate washing machine; endless conveyers. ASSOCIATED CRATES Ltd. 3 Feb., 1967 [5 Feb., 1966], No. 5143/66. Headings B8A and B8P. In a crate washing machine wherein crates are conveyed in end-to-end relationship through a washing machine, deflectors act upon each crate in turn to cause its longitudinal axis to become inclined to the longitudinal axis of the next following crate so that their contiguous end faces become mutually inclined to enable washing fluid to gain access to said faces. The deflectors 35a-35c may be formed integrally with or attached to side rails 24a, 24b to cause the crates to be deflected in a horizontal plane, or deflectors (45, Fig. 5) may engage the crate bottoms to deflect the crates in a vertical plane.
