Abstract

1,055,298. Friction clutches. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. June 1, 1965 [June 1, 1964], No. 22513/64. Heading F2C. In a friction clutch having a driven plate 14 clamped between a flywheel 10 and a presser plate 15 by a spring washer 21 which reacts against a cover 13 fast with the flywheel 10, release levers 28 pass through apertures 27 in the cover 13 to engage studs 33 fast with the presser plate 15 and the levers pivot on the edge of the aperture 27. Anti-rattle springs 41 hold the levers 28 against the edge of the apertures 27 on which they pivot and a coil 42 of the spring holds the spring washer 21 against the cover 13. The inner ends of the levers 28 are held against a release plate 37 by springs 43 and the outer ends of the levers 28 bear on abutments 35 adjustably positioned on the studs 33 by nuts 30. Tangential straps 25 transmit driving torque to the pressure plate 15.
