Abstract
1,055,104. Roller briquetting presses. KOMAREK-GREAVES & CO. April 1, 1964, No. 13434/64. Heading B5A. A briquetting press comprises a pair of rolls 20, 20 having co-operating moulding cavities, the rolls being removably mounted on the ends of shafts which are carried by pivot arms 52. The pivot arms are rotatable about axes parallel to those carrying the rolls 20, Fig. 3 (not shown), and are urged towards one another by pistonrods 82, Fig. 4, connected to yokes 78 and to hydraulically or pneumatically actuated pistons 81 which slide in cylinders 80. The rolls are removed by first detaching the base 30, Fig. 1 (not shown), of a hopper 18 and then releasing face plates 26 by removing bolts 24 which enter the roll-carrying shafts. A different shape of hopper base 30 may be used with each size of rolls employed.
