Abstract
1,054,996. Grilling and toasting apparatus. P. LœSCHER. March 24, 1964 [Feb. 11, 1964], No. 12286/64. Heading A4D. An electric apparatus for baking, grilling and toasting comprises a horizontal grid 23 mounted in a casing 21 on a rotatable shaft 4 between two electric heating elements 24 which are parallel to grid 23 and extend, together with the casing, over half the area of the grid. A drip pan 25 is also mounted on the shaft 4 below the grid 23. The grid 23 is adjustably mounted on the shaft 4 between the heating elements. The shaft 4 is rotated in a bearing 2 by a motor 11, driving a shaft 9 coupled to a friction disc 6 which engages the undersurface of a plate 5 mounted on the shaft 4. By altering the position of the friction disc 6 along the shaft 9 the speed of rotation of the shaft 4 is varied. This may be effected by a sliding rod 13, on moving a lever 17. A timing switch 31 and a rotary switch are incorporated and connected to an electrical circuit (Fig. 3, not shown), so that the grid 23 is rotated and the heating elements switched on and off automatically. A signal lamp 33 connected to a blinker switch is also incorporated to show when the apparatus is in use.
