Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the cooking appliance by a method wherein a cam contact and switches for forming a main switching circuit are provided on a shaft operative through a knob and a heating power adjuster and a timer are operated through the switches.
CONSTITUTION: When an electric power from a commercial power source is applied across terminals (a) and (b) and the open contact 5 is closed through the operation of the knob 1, a heater 12 is energized. The heating power and the heating time of the heater 12 are determined by the angle of rotation of the knob 1, that is, the positions of switching contacts 6 and 7. When a predetermined time is reached, the timer 9 drives a motor 10 to rotate the shaft 2. The rotation of the shaft 2 opens the cam contact 5 to thereby deenergize the heater 12 and as soon as the heater is deenergized, the motor 10 ceases its rotation.
