1,054,522. Light stabilizing oxymethylene polymers. CELANESE CORPORATION OF AMERICA. March 24, 1965 [March 31, 1964], No. 12421/65. Heading C3P. Oxymethylene polymers are stabilized by incorporating therein both an organic light stabilizer and an oxide or sulphide of titanium, iron, chromium, cadmium or lead. The polymer may be a homopolymer of formaldehyde or trioxane or a copolymer including cyclic ethers such as ethylene oxide and trioxolane. Specified light stabilizers include 2-hydroxybenzophenone and substitution products thereof, benzotriazole derivatives and hydroxyaryl esters of aromatic acids-long lists being given. Thermal stabilizers, plasticizers and fillers may also be present.
