1,166,309. Oxymethylene polymer-N-vinyllactam polymer compositions. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. 27 Nov., 1967 [25 Nov., 1966], No.53830/67. Heading C3P. Oxymethylene polymers are stabilized with 0.05 to 10% of a polymer of a compound of formula (an N-vinyl-azetidinone or N-vinylpropiolactam) in which R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are hydrogen, straight or branched chain aliphatic radical of 1 to 12 carbon atoms or an alicyclic or aromatic radical. Conventional bisphenols and acetophenone, benzophenone or triazine derivatives may also be incorporated. The oxymethylene polymers may be acetylated formaldehyde homopolymers or trioxan copolymers. Comparative examples with other poly-N-vinyl lactams are included. The N-vinyl azetidinone polymer may be a homopolymer or a copolymer, particularly with N-vinyl-N-methyl formamide.
