Abstract
1,054,285. Air raid shelters. A. ZUGEHOR. Feb. 26, 1964 [March 25, 1963], No. 7979/64. Addition to 983632. Heading E1A. In a shelter, e.g. an air raid shelter, formed by a row of frames 10 as shown and connected to form a box-like structure, the beams 14,14, 16,16 of each frame are of angle sections 26 having a row of holes and/or slots for assembly by bolts, each beam being a rectangular subframe. Each beam side consists of two lengths of angle section 26 connected by bolts to form a T-shape as shown, and plates 24 between adjacent lengths are bolted between the two lengths forming the T-shape at the zone of connection. Another length 30 of angle section 26 is mid-way between the ends of the subframe blocks, bricks or concrete are/is inserted between the frames in the internal spaces of the sub-frames. A sub-frame 34 may act as reinforcement where shown.
