Abstract

1,054,034. Sealing bale ties. SEAL-LESS STRAPPING Ltd. July 8, 1964 [Aug. 14, 1963], No. 32081/63. Heading B6P. [Also in Division F2] A tool for binding packages similar to that described in Specification 881,038 has means for tensioning a loop S1, S2 of flexible material around the package and jointing the overlapping ends thereof and has a reversible airmotor 18 which, through oppositely acting freewheeling clutches (Fig. 2, not shown) can be controlled to actuate alternatively either the jointing or the tensioning means. The jointing means comprise anvils 12 and 15 mounted on eccentrics 11 and 14 on driven shafts 10 and 14 respectively and towered successively on to corresponding dies on the base 21 of the tool to join the ends S1 and S2 in the manner described in Specification 881,038. The anvil 15 has a cutter 16 on the tensioning side. The jointing is operated after tensioning as part of an automatic cycle controlled by a cam actuating a valve in the air-pressure system (see Division F2).
