Abstract

[Also in Divisions B8 and G1] In a machine for packing a given weight or a given volume of material in a bag (see Division B8), the edges of a filled bag B 5 are brought together and stitched by a sewing machine 41 (Fig. 1, not shown) after a bordering paper 41a has been applied thereto. Alternatively, or additionally, the bag mouth may be heat sealed by heating plates 89, 89a on levers 88, 88a, which levers are operated scissors fashion by electromagnets M 10a and M 10 .
