Abstract
1,053,612. Lamp caps. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 8, 1964 [Jan. 11, 1963], No. 888/64. Heading H2E. [Also in Division H1] An electric lamp 11 has a cap 17 of rectangular cross-section which is received in a larger aperture 25 in a centring ring 18 so that the lamp can be adjusted relative to the ring before the ring is secured to the cap. Upstanding tongues 26-29 are provided at the longitudinal sides of the aperture, and when the correct position of the lamp has been obtained solder is applied between the tongues and the side faces 17a, 17b of the cap. The cap comprises a metal sleeve which is fixed over the seal 13 at one end of the bulb, and a supporting wire 21 extends from the cap and is connected to the lead-in wire 15a passing through the seal 12 at the other end. The lead-in wire 15b which passes through the seal 13 is connected to a contact tongue 20 supported in the cap by insulating material 19.
