Abstract
1,052,425. Liquid fuel fired furnaces; steam generation. KAWASAKI JUKOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA. Oct. 2, 1963 [May 25, 1963]. No. 38731/63. Headings F4A and F4B. Primary air for the refractory lined primary combustion chamber 3 of a packaged water tube boiler is delivered through a jacket to fixed vanes 2 and movable vanes 2a to issue with a swirl round the burner 1. The vanes 2, 2a, Fig. 4b (not shown), are such that the angle of delivery and velocity of the air remains the same when the amount of air delivered is reduced. The water tubes of the boiler are connected between distribution headers 14 and headers 16 delivering directly to the steam and water drum 1, Fig. 5, and the tubes 15 are shaped so that the gases pass over them perpendicularly, guided by baffles 20, 21 at the junction between upright and inclined sections of the tubes.
