Abstract

1,051,967. Containers and container closures. RIEKE METAL PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Feb. 22, 1965 [March 9, 1964], No. 7537/65. Headings B8D and B8T. A closure for a container 24 having an aperture defined by an upturned flange 26 forming an annular recess outwardly of the container. comprises a body part, passing through the aperture and having a shoulder 31 engaging the flange, and a flange on the closure having a rim portion 22 disposed in the recess. The closure is designed primarily for application in plastics material in which a degree of cold flow may cause locking of the portion 22 permanently under the flange. The closure may have an extensible spout 11 with an integral seal 16, for cutting off in use, and a screw cap 12 fitted with a bail handle 17, Fig. 1 (not shown), for pulling the spout to its extended position.
