Abstract

1,051,948. Discharge lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. June 23, 1965 [Sept. 25. 1964], No. 39233/64. Heading H1D. A high-pressure mercury vapour lamp having a double envelope, and a fuse 7 included in a current lead of the lamp and disposed within the outer envelope 3, such that the fuse oxidizes and ruptures if air should enter the outer envelope, is connected in a circuit in series with a capacitor, to prevent the flow of direct current through the fuse if the lamp should tend to rectify upon starting up.
