Abstract
1,050,889. Two part couplings. WARD & GOLDSTONE Ltd. July 13, 1965 [July 15, 1964], No. 29101/64. Heading H2E. The contact-carrying body 5 and surrounding shroud of a connector are held together by a screw 19 inserted from between the male and female parts. The body is a truncated ellipse in section within grooves of equal depth on one side in which contacts 7, 7<SP>1</SP> are held between it and the shroud. In the case of the male connector shown, the contacts pass through the apertured end wall of the shroud. The earth contact 7<SP>1</SP> is in a groove in a thicker part of the body than the others and lies out of their plane. In assembly the shroud is applied after the cord is applied to the conductors and the conductors seated in their grooves. A spigot in the end wall of one shroud enters a recess in the end wall of the other (Fig. 2, not shown).
