Abstract

1,050,572. Valve bags. BRITISH VIS. QUEEN Ltd. Jan. 3, 1964 [Jan. 24, 1963], No. 3078/63. Addition to 961,423. Heading B8K. A flap 10 is secured within the valve sleeve of the parent Specification by a seam 9 spaced from a free edge 10 which extends towards the external opening of the sleeve. The invention is shown applied to a valve in which a slit 2 in the bag wall is covered internally by a patch 3 seamed at 4, 5, 6. The flap 10 is integral with the extension 8 of the patch 3 described in the parent Specification. The flap 8, 10 is preferably of thinner material than the patch 3 and may be included in the seams 5, 6, as illustrated, or may be narrower to avoid inclusion in these seams. Where the patch 3 is applied externally, instead of internally, the flap 10 is preferably seamed to the wall of the bag. One end of the flap may protrude through the valve slit.
