Abstract

1,049,877. Seals. N. D. TRBOVICH. July 23, 1963 [July 23, 1962], No. 29159/63. Heading F2B. A sealing ring 1 is provided with diverging walls 4 and an expanding member 2 which is formed with a split 9 and engages the walls adjacent the outer ends. The sealing ring, which may be made of metal and provided with a plastic or metallic coating over at least the sealing portion 5, may be arranged as shown or in a cavity for sealing rotating, reciprocating or static parts Preferably, the expanding member 2 is formed of metal wire. The walls 4 may be reinforced as described in Specification 1,048,9,79.
