Abstract
1, 049, 657. Bonding-engines. A. GRAZIANO and A. CASTELLO. Sept. 2, 1963 [April 13, 1963], No. 34564/63. Heading D1N. The main frame of a carding machine consists of two one-piece side frames rigidly secured to fixed tracks and not connected by transverse members. The main cylinder 3 of the machine is carried on pillars 6 from each of which a vertical member 5 extends to sustain an annular support 4 on which are mounted the bearing elements for worker rollers. The annular supports 4 are so formed as to provide covers for the sides of the main cylinder and have inturned edges to restrain the entry of films between the cylinder and covers. The bases 6A of the pillars 6 are slidable on the tracks 7 to which they may be bolted when satisfactorily aligned. The feed conveyer is carried in a frame element 8 and the doffer in a frame element 9 incorporating a housing 9B.
