Abstract

1,048,484. Vehicle buffers. GEORGE ANGUS & CO. Ltd. Jan. 22, 1964 [Jan. 24, 1963], No. 2768/64. Heading B7T. A buffer comprises a stack of layers 2 of cellular elastomeric material such as polyurethane, the stack having one or more holes 3 therethrough into which is foamed elastomeric material to form a stud 4 integral with end plates 5, 6. In Fig. 2 the portions 5 of the studs 7, 8 are cemented to a rigid base-plate 10. The layers 2 may have different degrees of resilience and be shaped as in Fig. 6 and covered with a homogeneous non-foamed coating 11.
